The Unusual
Zaoli: Huge and humanoid, this creature wanders the forest eating everything in its path. Trees, shrubs, berries, squirrels, sticks, rocks, literally -anything-. It's blue-grey tinged skin is marked with ancient Towskish runes. Forest Hag: Oddly humanoid, this sleek beast takes only female form. Dark black skin covers the sleek body, arms ending in clawed hands. Also of note are their large teeth, used to pull meat from the bone. Gorvor: Birdlike and enormous, this creature is covered in oddly placed plates of thick bone. Its arms end in great, long talons, used as weapons as it hunts with an oddly alert gaze. Upon its back rests an enormous, bony shell that has spikes all over it. These animals tend to converge together. King Wolf: Unusually sized wolf with a grand pelt. Most elves would stand at the wolf's knee. Teeth and claws are proportionate, making this a deadly beast. Their numbers are few, and unlike most wolves, they do not travel in packs. Mammoth: Mostly found in the valley of the Bhyhdall, this enormous creature is covered in a lush pelt that is sought after worldwide. Two huge, ivory tusks extend from its face, also very useful in the crafting trades, but these are rare to be found at all. Lorch: Tiny wormlike creature with very sharp teeth. Their skin is bluish colored. In addition they release a dreadfully poisonous toxin if they bite. They are drawn by the scent of their own toxin, so if someone or something is stung, others are likely to converge for a feast. Sabek: Large, horned horrors. Their skin is grey and mottled. Walking upright, their muscular forms are a force to be reckoned with. Skeet: This birdlike animal is just slightly larger than your average bird. Though flightless, it bears an impressive wingspan that ends in sharpened claws. Its strong beak ends in a downward point that is used in the attack to pierce and gouge. The coloring of its feathers range from brilliant red to sunset orange. Skylar: A sleek, feline like creature with long claws and a tail that ends in a dangerous, bone spike. Its pelt is luxurious and rich, highly prized by elves. These creatures are considered quite fierce. Spine Leopard: Feline in nature, the spine leopards rich fur is lush and thick and gold in color, save around the eyes and nose where it drastically changes shades to a rich, dark black. All down the length of its spine and at the ends of its hugely pawed feet are needlelike spines that protrude up and out, razor sharp to the touch. Takmar: A beady eyed little creature with a densely fur-covered body. The entirety of its form is compacted into a spherical shape, and it moves by rolling its muscles forward. Of note are the beast’s teeth, long and sharp, are perfect for slicing through meat. Tremlon: Similar to a takmar in body type, the tremlon is distinctively different in that it has a pair of spindly arms and legs that seem barely able to support its girth. The wiry appendages are covered with less dense, fuzzy stubble. Enormous hands and feet end the appendages, used to retain balance when standing or lumbering along. Tuskin: Hunchbacked humanoid creature. It is furry over the entirety of its form. Its hands and feet are barely useful; safe for bludgeoning as it only has three non-opposable fingers, and two, misbalanced toes on each hand and foot. Voltor: An odd mix of scales and feathers cover this beasts body in a haphazard way. Though similar in color, deep, rich browns, the difference in color and texture is obvious, even at a distance. A sharp beak and long, talonous claws end its unwinged arms and large toed feet. Sarlath: A gigantic serpent with glistening black scales, the sarlath attacks with the quick strike and is known to be one of the more horrific creatures in the woods. The creature is prized for its sharp fangs. Its meat, however, is grotesque and unsavory unless prepared properly. Baldour: Covered in thick, black hair, the bipedal baldour is essentially an oversized and angry rodent. Known for eating essentially anything that crosses its path, the baldour is a filthy creature that is usually found by scent rather than sight. Lonisel: Statuesque in build and set with intelligent, hazel eyes, the lonisel is perhaps the most dangerous of the forest creatures because it hunts with an intelligence and a memory that is long-lived. Bounding on two legs and using razor sharp claws as its weapon, the lonisel is a savage beast that can rend a deer bare of flesh in a matter of seconds. The lonisel is prized for its mane and pelt. Vorikal: Another feline creature, this bipedal savage stalks about on two thickly muscled legs which allow it to leap high into the air, coming down in a strike of ivory claws and sharp teeth. The vorikal is a prized creature due to its glossy pelt, which can be worked into a supple leather. |
