From birth to age two, elves age rapidly. A two year old elf, would exhibit the characteristics and intellectual acumen of a six year old, real life human child. From two to thirteen, the aging process slows, and elves physically age as real life humans do, however, they possess a psychological and intellectual superiority that comes from the first two years of life. From thirteen to seventeen, they develop mentally very quickly. They -can- by seventeen have the intellectual properties of a real life thirty year old human, but remember, they do not have the life experience, and this often causes confusion for them: sort of an adolescent angst that the elders will chuckle over. From that point on, elves, unless they go through a magical ritual, will not physically age. Life experience and lifestyle, can make an elf older, but they still have the body of a youthful elf, unless they chose to give up their life essence to the forest, aging and dying to return to their kin past.
